Night’N’Day is postponed… But not cancelled!

In view of the still critical sanitary context, the Raid CentraleSupélec association is forced to
postpone the 2021 edition of Night N’Day which was supposed to take place in the Chevreuse Valley on February 13th. The safety of students and company employee and staff being the priority of the Raid.
CentraleSupélec, it seems inconceivable to organize our event under these conditions. The association has
therefore decided to postpone the sporting meeting to Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, still in the Chevreuse valley.

More than 300 students and collaborators were expected to attend this flagship event of the Chevreuse Valley.Stud ents already registered will have the choice between :

  • Keep their place for the event postponed to May 22nd, 2021.
  • Receive a full refund if they no longer wish to participate on that date (the
    refund modalities will be communicated by email to the students already registered)

For non-registered students, the registration site is still open! We hope to see many of you on May 22nd, the Raid CentraleSupélec adventure continues!

 

On May 22nd, come and have fun in the Chevreuse valley!

Encourage your friends to form a mixed team of 4 and come and live an epic day together just a few kilometres away from Paris.

First of all, the Night’N’Day Saclay is a trail on Saturday morning, with an enchanting night departure. It is then an unforgettable mountain bike ride with a heroic arrival at the château de Rambouillet. A set of optional loops (Mountain Bike, Trail, Orienteering and even Canoeing!) make the Night’N’Day a unique modular race accessible to all. Take advantage of the activities in the central fun village and create your own route by choosing which loops you will venture into!

Following the success of the 2020 edition and thanks to an impeccable sanitary protocol, the number of participants is maintained at 350! Register from Thursday 03 December to take advantage of the earlybirds at 39€! (then at 44€ from April 17th)

Trail and Mountain Bike

On the program at the beginning of the day: an 8 kilometer trail. Be sure to bring your headlamp and glowing clothes to shine on a path specially illuminated for the occasion. On the way out of this nocturnal experience, a 26 kilometer Mountain Bike section will take you to the splendid Rambouillet Castle.

Optional loops

After this common section, participants will be able to personalize their race path. Plenty of optional loops will be available, allowing you to discover the marvelous Chevreuse valley and its elegant castles.

You will be spoilt for choice: the core is trail and mountain bike, but also orienteering, run&bike and even canoeing. In total, no less than six loops will be available, each earning a certain number of points.

The choice is yours to decide how much distance you and your team will cover. You could choose to enjoy one or two strategically chosen loops, or try to man up and finish them all for a total of 80 km.

Fun activities

In between any of the loops, you will have the opportunity to take a break, relax and make the best of our fun activity stands!

A great catalogue of activities will be proposed: Air Soft, Wall of Champions and many others to discover on site…

In the evening, the closing ceremony will allow everyone to relive the best moments of the race in a convivial atmosphere. Of course, the big winners will be announced!

Equipement

Bikes and helmets will be given during the race, but it is necessary for each participant to bring the following equipment:

At least one per team:

  • a compass
  • a fully-charged cell phone along with a waterproof case
  • a pump, bike tire irons, bike repair patches, a multi-tools key and a chain tool
  • a whistle
  • a First Aid Kit
  • a minimum stock of food
  • at least one member of the team should have a 100 + lumen headlamp

At least one per runner:

  • a backpack
  • bike gloves
  • trail shoes
  • warm clothes and a raincoat
  • a water bottle or a backpack with a hydration bladder
  • a headlamp with a spare battery (start at night)
  • your glasses if you wear contact lens
  • a high visibility accessory (for the night)
  • an emergency survival blanket
  • a tupper (lunchbox) and cutlery

Covid-19 precautions

Who can take part?

The Night’N’Day Saclay is designed for students and partner companies. Its modular format makes it accessible to anyone, no matter their fitness. All participants will have fun, whether they want to enjoy a unique sporting experience with friends or try to take on a major sporting challenge!

 

Race schedule

Meeting at the Courcelle-sur-Yvette (RER B) train station parking on Sunday May 22nd between 7 h and 7h 30, for the trail departure. You will then be entirely taken care of in terms of logistics.

The first 8km trail ends at the Château de Breteuil. There, you will pick up the mountain bikes for a 26km itinerary leading to the château de Rambouillet. All along these 2 obligatory portions, you will be able to flesh out your race path thanks to our Optional Loops, at a number of 6, going from a supplementary 1 km of trail to a 24 km triathlon for the most courageous !

All along the route, you will find check-points and activity areas to nourish you, have fun and unwind. Evening meals will also be provided, in the form of soup or sandwiches.

The race will end around 6pm. The Closing Ceremony will take place at the Racinay complex if weather conditions allow it. Otherwise it will be a remote meeting (online). It will be a convivial moment and an opportunity of exchange between participants and staff.

For the way back, at the end of the ceremony competitors can either take the N line at Rambouillet station or shuttles specially put in place for the event, whose destination will be Courcelle-sur-Yvette station (departure of the trail).
